Doing a little reseach to learn more. Found magazines like SAY, JET and BROWN. Hadnt ever heard about them before. But its really interesting reading. What was in the media in the 50's.

JET magazine is still currently in print. So is Ebony magazine. :-)

You also have Essence magazine. There use to be a publication called Suede, I loved that magazine, but it didn't make a lot of money. I still have 2 editions from it. It was suppose to be a fashion magazine for black women. They were planning to bring it back but it has yet to happen.
Wow, I remember Jet and Ebony from when I was a kid...my parents had subscriptions to both. Andreas, if you can get a hold of a copy of Jet magazine, there's a weekly feature called "Beauty of the Week"...actually the only reason my brother ever "read" Jet was for the Beauty of the Week!

Anon Update(aka Abel Turner): It is discovered that anon is gay and is extremely jealous that this blog is not dedicated to him/bm by a white man. Another magazine you could look at Andreas is Black Hair, it shows all the styles that we're(bw) are using and features music/movie artist on and inside the cover.

I don't think Andreas's purpose in creating this blog was to demean/hate on black men, but to express an appreciation for the beauty he sees in black women in a positive, uplifting manner. I doubt if most of the women who read this blog are black men hating "feminazis", as I think you referred to us in a previous post.
